Blackhawk Veterinary Hospital is a full-service veterinary hospital located in the heart of the East Bay between San Ramon and Walnut Creek. Our mission is to provide the most compassionate and the highest level of veterinary care available to your four-legged family member. We feel that all of our patients are an extension of the Blackhawk Veterinary Hospital family, and we will treat you like one of our own. At BVH, we are committed to your pet’s overall well-being, from puppy-hood to senior-hood and all the years in between. Give us a call or stop by and see why being a part of our family is the last choice you will ever have to make when it comes to veterinary care.
Blackhawk Veterinary Hospital (BVH) is a general practice catering to both dogs and cats. We take extreme pride and attention in caring for your four-legged family members.
We are a full-service hospital with services ranging from annual physical exams and vaccines to specialty surgery (TPLO, gastropexy, laparoscopic procedures) performed by board certified surgeons. We have a full in-house laboratory, digital X-rays and ultrasound capability though more advanced studies (heart ultrasound/echocardiogram and complete abdominal ultrasounds) are done by board certified radiologists that come to our hospital on a mobile basis. We are proud to offer the ULTRA line of vaccines. These vaccines are extensively filtered thereby eliminating any unnecessary components that can sometimes end up in vaccines. These vaccines are therefore less reactive and only require 0.5ml/1/2cc to be administered as opposed to the traditional 1ml/1cc. The ULTRA line of vaccine applies to our distemper/parvo and leptospirosis for the dog and FVRCP and FeLV for the cat. We also offer extended length duration/guarantee of vaccines for our distemper/parvo (4yrs), FVRCP (4yrs), FeLV (2yrs). Our feline rabies is a recombinant vaccine with no adjuvant, and we recently started carrying the new three-year vaccine which most feline owners appreciate.
We proudly partner with local specialty and emergency hospitals in the area for cases that require more advanced diagnostics and treatment including CT/MRI. These specialties include internal medicine, cardiology, oncology, neurology, dermatology, dentistry, and ophthalmology.
Bring in your rescued dog or cat and we will perform a free wellness exam. Call for details.
